A Women Support group initiative under DIABETES FIGHTERS TRUST

WHERE IT ALL STARTED!

When Khushi was born, one look at her face made her parents name her Khushi -"happiness." She radiated joy. But after her diagnosis with Type 1 Diabetes (TID), that happiness was repeatedly questioned by the world around her. She's lived with T1D for 13 years-weathering bullying, stereotypes, PCOS, depression, and isolation. Over time, her community and lived experience helped her rediscover the power of joy and voice.

On International Women's Day 2025, Khushi's Instagram inbox flooded with questions from women living with diabetes-questions about pregnancy, PCOS, marriage, intimacy, fitness, and identity. That moment sparked a truth: Women with diabetes are fighting two battles-their condition, and a complete lack of personalized support for their gendered health experiences.

And that was the seed of DiaSisters.

A SISTERHOOD BUILT ON INTERSECTION

As Khushi began receiving an outpouring of messages-women seeking clarity. support, and sisterhood-Mridula's path naturally intersected with the momentum. Navigating her own pregnancy challenges with Type 1 Diabetes(diagnosed in 1992), she had long been receiving similar queries from women unsure about conception, stigma, and postpartum management. The silence around it all wasn't new to her-it had been echoing in her own journey.

When Khushi shared the idea for DiaSisters, Mridula immediately resonated with its mission. From that moment forward, they co-founded DiaSisters together, powered by the values and reach of Diabetes Fighters' Trust, combining personal experience, advocacy wisdom, and a shared drive to build a space that felt emotionally real and practically useful.

END NOTE

More than an Initiative, It's a Sisterhood, it is not just a project. It's not just another community or awareness drive. It's a bond. It's the kind of bond you share with a sisterwhere one has walked the path before, and reaches back to hold your hand through it.

In this space, we're not experts looking down-we're sisters lifting each other up. Whether you've just been diagnosed or have been managing diabetes for years, whether you're navigating PCOD, dealing with erratic periods, struggling with fertility, or silently suffering through the emotional rollercoaster-this is where you belong. Because we see you.We know how hard it is to talk about these things. How isolating it feels when no one else around you truly understands what it's like to count carbs and question your self- worth in the mirror.

DiaSisters exists for that silence-to break it.

For every woman who's been shamed, misunderstood, or ignored because of her condition. For every girl who's afraid to say, "I have diabetes," because she's scared it will make her look weak, broken, or less than. Here, we don't judge. We don't compare. We don't pretend. We understand. We share. We show up for each other. Just like an older sister would. We believe that community heals. That stories empower. That no woman should ever feel ashamed of her diagnosis or alone in her journey. So this isn't just an initiative-it's a movement of sisterhood, softness, strength, and support.

Together, we are DiaSisters. And together, we rise.
